Interests
Hi! :)

Well I was looking at DA recently and noticed I had not posted a journal since October last year, yet I can confirm this does not mean I have been doing nothing since then, I have just been a little preoccupied with family matters at the end of last year as my dear uncle died in January 2012, while also keeping my mind active by creating a googlesite documenting the whole thought process and development of this Diorama Project.

sites.google.com/site/mydioram…

I am slowly getting round to actually creating something that I can show, it is taking me some time because I am very particular about what I want to create, I want to make sure that I have the right materials and that I will complete the first scene I start before starting another.  I am also a person who is indecisive as I have many ideas of what to create as a scene but cannot make my mind up on which to create first.

I have, on a positive note, collected some very useful materials of various shapes, sizes and textures.  I am also slowly organising an area to start work on the diorama scenes.... Yet I have found that I am influenced by so many ideas and concepts that I find it hard to make my mind up of where to start first.

I am trying to consider a back story to the scenes I look to create, so I have been considering characters and possible miniatures to play the parts of those characters I have in mind.

Until next time...

you're welcome, I have been designing a map of my own for a fictional story I am trying to put together... so trying to find reference and inspiration like your work is great.

So I have only designed 1 (very big) map as I am also looking at many other aspects of the world I am creating.

I have added some of my work on:

Nice! Much the same story for me. I started doing cartography so I could draw the maps for a novel manuscript I wrote. A year later, I spend far more time making maps than I do editing the story.

If you like the technique I use, Google "Eriond Tutorial Arsheesh". That's the basic approach I use for the terrain, and I'm quite fond of it.
